Most artists aim to have their work sold and displayed in galleries, but Chicago based artist Patrick Scoff makes an adventure out of each painting – all you have to do is follow the bread crumbs. Serena Brahney catches up with the eccentric and generous artist to learn how he makes the entire city of Chicago his personal gallery and is more interested in people’s time than money in exchange for his hidden treasures.

Blog:    on the way…
I'm a broadcast reporter slash online media maven by trade -- and yeah, it says that on my business cards (OK, not really. But it ought to.). I'm also a twentysomething Chicouverealer (the unofficial Chi/Vancouver/Montreal demonym, FYI), a Northwestern grad with a penchant for talking to strangers, digital banter, and making myriad, often gratuitous lists. Sociable to a fault, I have the tendency to dance solo in public places, use puns in everyday conversation and believe that I can flirt airplanes off the ground (I've come thisclose, too.). I'm also armed with a bevy of anomalous skills: an uncanny, borderline Nash-style memory for numbers though I seldom work with them (I'm a writer, yo.), a particular dining savvy but an incompetent cook, a lexical expert who sometimes forgets terms like "produce" (which leads friends to point out another oxymoron: that I'm the dumbest smart person they know). I am passionate about people who are passionate about love, life and learning, and admittedly I'm a little crazy, but I think all the best kinds of people are. And while I'm virtually a walking heart – someone who isn't afraid to expose my neuroses and vulnerability and blindly trust people – I’ve been told I can be a tad intimidating. I dig the paradox.
